Industrial Visit to Rohini Heliport with Pawan Hans

Skylynn Aviation recently organized an industrial visit to Rohini Heliport in collaboration with Pawan Hans, one of India’s leading helicopter service providers. This visit offered aspiring aviation professionals a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of the aviation industry, with a particular focus on crew management, ground staff operations, and the reservation and operations system.

A Glimpse into Rohini Heliport

Located in the heart of Delhi, Rohini Heliport is India’s first integrated facility for helicopter operations, providing a hub for Pawan Hans helicopters. The heliport features state-of-the-art infrastructure, including a terminal building, four hangars, and a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility. It serves as a vital connection point for emergency services, corporate travel, and tourism-related operations.

Crew Management: The Heart of Flight Operations

One of the key aspects highlighted during the visit was the role of crew members in ensuring the safety and efficiency of helicopter operations. Students observed how pilots and cabin crew coordinate to maintain high standards of communication, navigation, and safety procedures. Pilots not only manage the technical aspects of flying but also handle pre-flight inspections, weather assessments, and in-flight decision-making.

Cabin crew, on the other hand, play a crucial role in ensuring passenger comfort and safety. Their responsibilities extend from providing in-flight services to managing emergencies and coordinating with ground staff to ensure smooth boarding and deplaning.

Ground Staff: The Backbone of Heliport Operations

Ground staff are an integral part of any aviation operation, and Rohini Heliport is no exception. The visit gave students a behind-the-scenes look at the essential tasks handled by the ground crew. From aircraft marshalling and baggage handling to fueling and aircraft maintenance, ground staff ensure that each flight is ready for takeoff without delays.
